Route notes

This route starts and finishes at Bridge Of Orchy station on the West Highland Line. There are daily trains from Glasgow Queen Street.

The first few miles are on a quiet single-track, well-tarmacked road. From the station follow the road down the hill to the Bridge Of Orchy hotel, cross the A82 and follow the road down to the stone bridge over the River Orchy.

After the bridge, the road sweeps around the right, follow the road round and you'll arrive at Inveroran, a beautiful remote hotel that usually caters for walkers of the West Highland Way. Keep following the road past Inveroran sticking to the West Highland Way path.

Once you reach a lodge (Forrest Lodge) on your left the route turns to gravel and is a beautiful route through Rannoch Moor to Glencoe Ski Centre before a short trip on tarmac down to Kingshouse.

At Kingshouse, retrace the route back to Bridge Of Orchy.

It is possible to cycle back to Bridge Of Orchy via the A82 to make this a loop but it probably isn't the safest of options.
